The Role
This role is a 12 month fixed term contract
We are looking for a candidate with prior experience in the professional indemnity/ medical indemnity fields who leads by example and has a genuine passion for achieving results for their team, and for the organisation.
This role is varied, working closely with internal and external stakeholders including our Underwriting Committee, Claims team, Member Services and Marketing teams, and of course our members.
Your work will be different every day but in general your priorities will include:
- Responsible for the administration of the Underwriting inbox, maintenance and allocations
- Liaise with the Clinical Underwriting Committee as required on categorisation and procedure queries and update the centralized UW library
- Undertake monthly quality assurance reviews
- Undertake User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for Underwriting system changes as required
- Undertake administrative activities relating to new business function
- Undertake data cleanup activities
- Assist with administration of Dental Schemes
- Assist with high risk member activities and tasks for Medical and Dental portfolios
- Assist with renewal activities as required
- Assist with review of marketing collateral
- Assist with underinsurance policy amendments and administration
- Assist with preparation and delivery of training to new team members and other departments
- Recommend and assist with implementation of improvements to Underwriting processes
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- Proactive mindset, positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Strong and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Adaptable and flexible in approach.
- Competent with systems
- Highly organised and able to prioritise workloads
Preferred qualifications:
- Minimum two years’ experience in and knowledge of Professional Indemnity/Medical Indemnity
- RG146/Tier 2 required
- Thorough understanding of insurance principles, industry practices and Medical Indemnity legislation
- Certificate IV insurance qualification desirable
