Job Energy Transition Director

As a Director of Commercial Advisory at a global consultancy, you will leverage your deep knowledge of the energy market, carbon markets, or green fuels industry to provide strategic, high-impact advice to clients. Your role will be instrumental in shaping business outcomes for energy industry stakeholders by advising on key areas such as wholesale markets, risk management, trading strategies, and overall market positioning. You will lead project teams in delivering actionable insights and play a pivotal role in shaping the company's growth by building a high-performing advisory team.

• Commercial Leadership: Provide strategic commercial advice to clients, grounded in deep market knowledge and quantitative analysis, with a focus on wholesale electricity markets, carbon markets, and green fuels.

• Client Engagement: Engage with leadership teams across the energy sector, particularly within wholesale markets, strategy, risk management, and trading functions. Develop trusted advisor relationships that lead to high-impact outcomes.

• Project Management: Lead and oversee cross-functional teams, working collaboratively with both consulting staff and client employees to deliver complex projects. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality outcomes that drive real, measurable changes for clients.

• Team Leadership: Coach, mentor, and lead small teams to foster development and deliver exceptional results. Cultivate a collaborative and high-performing work culture that reflects our company values.

• Business Development: Play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, expanding client relationships, and helping the consultancy grow its client base within the energy, carbon, and green fuels markets. Support the broader growth of the business by contributing to the development of service offerings and client proposals.

• Entrepreneurial Contribution: Act as a cultural ambassador, contributing to the strategic growth of the firm by supporting the expansion of the commercial advisory function. Play a key role in building a strong team and ensuring the consultancy is well-positioned in a rapidly evolving market.

• Thought Leadership: Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, regulations, and challenges. Contribute to thought leadership efforts by speaking at industry events, publishing insights, or engaging with key stakeholders on emerging market issues.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in the energy market, carbon markets, or green fuels industry, ideally gained within Australia.

• Proven track record in commercial advisory, gained either from working within internal strategy or commercial teams, or as a consultant to the energy industry.

• Strong leadership and team management skills, with demonstrated success in leading small teams to deliver high-impact results in fast-paced, complex environments.

• Deep expertise in engaging with leadership teams and providing quantitative market analysis to support strategic decision-making.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building and growing teams within a rapidly growing consultancy.
